ABC GUIDE KIDS & PARENTS
Stomach-Clenching Laughter And Lots Of Silliness - Fun Is Top Of The Menu!
The Young Dragons area is situated in a shaded location between the Sacred Fire and Being Fields and is designed for children aged 3 to 12 years old.
With natural playgrounds, movement activities, arts, music and more, mini-Boomers and their parents or guardians are in their element in this fantastic little hub, where they share plenty of laughs and have lots of fun!
Bring your offspring here during the hottest moments of the day and stay with them until the sun begins to go down. All day, everyday, there are opportunities for them to play, learn and laugh.
A parent or guardian is required to stay with their child/children throughout the day at the Young Dragons area. We also strongly advise not to bring children under the age of three years old to Boom.
Read about some of the key points to consider in our ABC guide below.
ABC GUIDE
- The Young Dragons Area program is aimed at 3 to 12 year olds. Of course, young teenagers are welcome too.
- Because of the heat and the dust, we do not recommend bringing children younger than the age of 3.
- The Young Dragons Area is located within the calmest spot of the festival.
- Situated between the Sacred Fire and Being Fields, it's a super cool shaded location with bespoke toilets designed for children and some yummy food.
- Ear protection should be worn by all children whenever they enter the music areas.
- You can find ear protection at the Young Dragons market and at the Boom Corner.
- If your child is 14 years or younger on 17 July 2025, you only need to register them with your associated ticket, provide an emergency contact number and accept the Term of Responsibility.
- The registration fee costs €1.
WHOM IS THE FAMILIES CARAVAN PARK FOR?
- The Families Caravan Park is a reserved limited parking space for families with caravans. Groups or families without children under 13 cannot park at this space.
- Children must be accompanied by a family member or legal guardian.
FAMILIES CARAVAN PARK REQUIREMENT FORM
- Families must apply by filling a form that is analysed and approved by the Boom Festival team.
- Submissions that do not meet the requirements will not be considered.
FAMILIES CARAVAN PARK LOCATION
- Located in the Caravan Park A, the Families Caravan Park is also a few steps away to the Grocery and Central Plaza area;
- It is also close to the lake and all the main facilities areas of the festival, like the Inclusive Shuttle bus stop.
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND
- The admission of the caravans for the Family Caravan Park must happen until the 16 July latest at 20:00 at the Pre-Gate (Sra. do Almortão Sanctuary) in order to be directed to the Pre-Parking - Due to safety reasons we do not guarantee a place for caravans arriving on other days. No exceptions, this is a restricted rule;
- Please arrive earlier. The Pre-Gate - Sra. do Almortão sanctuary - will be busy and it's possible to have to wait in line some hours until the admission of the families caravans is done;
- If you cannot arrive until this time, your caravan will be directed to another Caravan Park;
- The registration of the caravans for the Families Caravan Park will NOT be done at any gate of the festival. Family caravans arriving without a confirmation email from the Young Dragons team, will NOT have access to the Families Caravan Park;
- Caravans are not permitted to leave the Families Caravan Park before 24 July. This is because people without vehicles must exit the festival first: SAFETY COMES FIRST.
- Boomers younger than 18 years of age must be accompanied by their parents or legal guardians, or present a completed Term of Responsibility form.
- When arriving at the Boom Festival gates, please be sure to carry your child(ren)’s (valid) ID documents.
- A small market within the Young Dragons area offers various goods for children, including ear protectors, organic toiletries and much more.
- Babies booming in wombs are no doubt getting a vibrant start in life! We honour the sacred nature of the divine feminine to bring life into this world - it is nothing less than a sublime state of pure love - one we wish to both celebrate and help protect.
- So if you happen to be pregnant, we welcome you and your unborn child with open arms! For health and safety purposes, please ensure that you register on the Access Requirement Form so we can help you if and when you need it.
- Please keep in mind that the Boomland experiences high thermal amplitudes, with extreme heat by day and cold at night.
- Imagine Boom as a whole, but tailored for children aged 3 to 12: this is the Young Dragons area!
- Activities for young children and teenagers range from music and dance to arts, theatre, workshops, playground facilities and - of course - many games.
- The Young Dragons Area is open every day of the festival from 09:00 until 21:00.
- All children under the age of 15 must be registered at Boom. This is to ensure peace of mind for parents, guardians and us. It is also to ensure organisation and security.
- Registering your child costs €1. You can access the registration form here once you've secured your Boom Festival ticket.
- Kids tickets can take up to one week to be processed. Only then will you receive a valid Kids ticket.
- To get services for kids - such as the Boom Bus - you first need to receive your kid's ticket.
- Although the Young Dragons area has been designed with children in mind, it does not mean you can dump them here! Adult supervision is mandatory at all times
- All the families will have to sign a Responsibility Term for their children upon entering the festival site
- For the security of your children on festival grounds, we’ve created a security registration procedure that consists in the association of your child's wristband to your emergency contact and name on our database.
- The emergency contact that you mentioned upon your child's ticket registration is the one we will use during the festival to contact you if needed. Please make sure that you provide a phone number that will be available at all times during the festival.
TIPS FOR A SAFE FESTIVAL IN FAMILY
- Tell your children whom to approach when you are on site, it will make them feel safe and teach them where to go in case you do get separated.
- Make a first trip in the festival with your kids before the festival program starts, show them where is the Info Stand, the Young Dragons Area, and other info points with staff in the festival. These are the points that they can also ask for help in case of any need.
- Show your kid some reference points to find your place in the camping. Make sure you and your children know what to do if you do lose each other.
- Be very clear if you are arranging meeting places with older children. Visit it first together so you know exactly where to meet.
- Check in advance if your phone has signal.
- Put your phone on vibrate and in a place where you can feel it when you are by the dance stages.
- If you have a situation of a lost child, please talk with a Staff or Security Member immediately, we have procedures, radios and people on the land prepared to help find the child. And after that stay with the Boom Team and let us do the rest of the work.
- Avoid leaving the teens alone during the night in the camping zones. They can seem old enough to, but our experience says that they may feel unsafe during the night.
- Always hold hands or carry your children through busy areas.
- Don’t leave your younger children in the Young Dragons Area alone. This team is offering family activities, not a babysitting service.
- Invest in walkie talkies, the kids will love them and is a nice communication tool.
- Stay together, enjoy the festival as a family, and have lots of fun.
- A transport service tailored specifically for families will help your sweet crew get from the camping areas all the way across to the Young Dragons Sacred Fire: the inclusive Shuttle.
WHO IS THE YOUNG DRAGONS CAMP FOR?
- The Young Dragons Camp is a space dedicated to families and young Boomers, from 3 to 12 years old. Due to limited space, and in order to create a family mood, this area is restricted to relatives and guardians of children.
- Groups of friends and other family members who arrive without children must camp in the general camping areas.
YOUNG DRAGONS CAMP LOCATION
- The Young Dragons Camp is integrated in the Green Social Hub, a festival zone with less noise impact. Close to the walking gate, it guarantees proximity to the Inclusive Shuttle bus stop (bus transport service for families with children and Boomers with disabilities).
WHAT TO BRING
- Bring your habitat to make your experience the best - solar fairy lights to illuminate camping spaces, additional shade, flags for location, etc. Children love them and we do too.
- Moving with children from one place to another can be a challenge in a festival! Baby strollers or festival wagons will help you and them to have a comfortable experience.
KNOW YOUR NEIGHBOURS
- The Young Dragons Camp is designated to families but it is not fenced. Young Dragons stewards will help families on arrival, directing to this space and making sure that Boomers without children find their way to other camping areas.
- Families are invited to be the guardians of these places. Let’s work as a team and keep this area child and family friendly.
IMPORTANT INFO
- It is strictly forbidden to light fires at Boom! Please be very careful with the risk of fire.
- No sound systems allowed at the Young Dragons Camp and Families Caravan Park.
- Pets are not allowed.
