The ABC of Kids at Boom Festival 2018

Dear Boomers,

The Young Dragons are a key element of our gathering, as we find in them the ultimate potential for an alternative society capable of living in harmony with Mother Nature. They are the very future of our planet, and as such we have taken upon us the responsibility of creating a space dedicated to them, their fun and their learning. More than just a family-friendly event, we are an inclusive event. At Boom, the motto We Are One is expressed by the possibility of everyone having a holistic experience.

Everyone is welcome to the Young Dragons area: there is no age limit for playing. Nevertheless, we ask to the ‘grown up kids’ to care of this space, so that it stays in good condition for the younger ones.

If you are travelling to Boom with your kids, please check out this little ABC:

Age Limit: the program of the Young Dragons Area is aimed at 3 – 12 year olds. Of course young teenagers are welcome, too. Because of the heat and the dust, we do not recommend bringing children younger than the age of three years.

Amenities: located in the calmest spot of the festival, between Sacred Fire and the Being Fields, the Young Dragons Area provides plenty of shade and special toilets for children.

Contribute: you too can share your knowledge, skills and passion and support the family experience at Boom! If you wish to participate in the Young Dragons’ area, please email us at [email protected].

Ear Protection: should be worn by all children whenever they enter the music areas. You will be able to find them at the Young Dragons Market.

Entry fee: if your child is 12 years or younger by 22 July 2018, you only need to register him/her with your associated ticket, provide an emergency contact and accept the term of responsibility. You’ll have to pay a registration fee of 1 Euro.

Camping: there is no exclusive campsite for families because Boom is an inclusive festival.

Festival Area: you’ll find many family-friendly spaces all over the Boomland.

Food: The Dragon´s Nest Chaishop will be serving kids and their families at the Young Dragons’ Area with yummy, nutritious and simple food.

Legal Age: Boomers younger than 18 years of age must be accompanied by their parents or legal tutors, or have to present a completed-terms-of-responsibility form that can be requested at [email protected].

Legal Document: when arriving at the Boom Festival gates, please be sure to carry your child(ren)’s valid I.D documents.

Market: a little market within the Young Dragons Area offers various goods for kids, e.g. ear protectors, organic toiletries, hand made t-shirts, etc.

Program: imagine Boom as a whole, but tailored for kids from ages 3-12: this is the Young Dragons Area! Activities for young children and teenagers range from music and dance to arts, theatre, workshops, playground facilities and many games.

The Young Dragons Area is open every day of the festival from 9h to 21h. Some activities will also take place at the Camping area Social Hubs and every morning at Orixá and Eleusis.

Some of them will need prior signing up, so make sure you tuned in with the program!

Registration: is required for all kids under 13 at Boom for reasons of comfort, organisation and security. Registration fee is 1 Euro per child. As online registration is no longer possible, we kindly ask that you fill out the registration form available HERE and bring it to the festival gates.

Responsibility: even though the Young Dragons Area is designed for kids, it is not a place to just dump them. Adult supervision is mandatory at all times!

Transportation: there is a special transportation service for families that will help you to get around. The Inclusive Shuttle will be working from 23 to 29 July from 9h to 22h. It supports transportation from the camping areas to the Sacred Fire.

Wristband: kids will receive a special wristband with an identification number.

Young Dragons: synonym for the youngest generation of Boomers.

With Love and Gratitude,
Yours Boom Team
