Sea-Watch is a non-profit civilian initiative dedicated to rescue operations of migrants in the central Mediterranean.
In the face of an ongoing humanitarian catastrophe triggered by European laws, they provide emergency aid to those risking their lives to cross the sea. They advocate for legal escape routes as well as for freedom of movement and solidarity as a main European value.
Sea-Watch is politically and religiously independent and finances itself exclusively through donations. Since 2015, Sea-Watch has been involved in the rescue of over 40,000 people.
