The story of Dead Combo begins in 2003, as a duo formed by Tó Trips and Pedro Gonçalves, after being invited by Henrique Amaro - radio host at Antena 3 - to compose and record the track "Paredes Ambience", included in the album in honor to Carlos Paredes - “Movimentos Perpétuos – Música para Carlos Paredes”. Thye have been widely acclaimed in Portugal as well as abroad, receiving numerous prizes for 'Album of the Year'. Lusitânia Playboys (2008), their third edited album, was elected 'Album of the Decade' by the newspaper Expresso.
In December 2014, having realised over 40 concerts and magical - sold out - performances at Coliseu dos Recreios in Lisbon and the Rivoli theatre in Porto, their album "A Bunch of Meninos" got elected best album of the year by the readers of Blitz magazine.
In 2015, they won a Golden Globe for best band after their collaboration on the movie "Focus" by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. In 2016, the band reinvents itself and presents a more acoustic side, sometimes even surprising. Now, Dead Combo remain on their extraordinary trajectory which has been solidifying year after year, as one of the most important and interesting bands of the new portuguese musical panorama.
