Isa Guitana


For the last 1​7 ​years Isa has dedicated her daily presence to each student to cross her path, supporting their inner journey with her playful heart and faithful dedication to inspire them to unravel their deepest potential within. She spent 10 years travelling to India to practice under the guidance of Shri K Pattabhi Jois and his grandson Sharath Jois and was among the first Portuguese teachers to be Authorized by the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India. She felt this practice would challenge her, open her heart and bring her new levels of growth for a lifetime. Isa spends most of her time in Lisbon, Portugal with her family and teaching at her school, Casa Vinyasa. Over the years Isa has taught throughout Portugal Asia and America. Isa uses her singing voice as a tool for transformation through the study and chanting​ of the Yoga Sutras, ​traditional Indian Bhajans and guided Yoga Nidra​s​.

Ashtanga Yoga

At this auspicious hour where the Sun's disk disappears below the horizon... Isa invites you to honour this transition between light and darkness where unique conditions happen between the sun and the sky and the first stars appear. The Ashtanga Yoga practice follows old traditions and reconnects us with our inner cycles. Starting with saluting the sun (suryanamaskaras) we enter in a deep journey of synchronization of movement with breath (vinyasa) awakening and expressing our life giving force (prana) into subtle realms of understanding on how to control our own energy retaining it with Bandhas (energetic locks). This combination of movement, bandhas and breath with a progressive series of postures (asanas) will produce an inner fire that will help us purify our whole being and catalyse our awareness of our purpose of life bringing a complete state of unified consciousness, uniting us with the entire universe. ​


Yoga Nidra - Deep Relaxation

Yoga Nidra, or yogic sleep is a powerful technique, that takes you to a state of consciousness between waking and sleeping. Isa invites you to rest comfortably lied down in savasana and let her voice guide you through the pancha maya kosha (five layers of self), leaving you with a sense of oneness. It is a state in which the body is completely relaxed, and the practitioner becomes systematically and increasingly aware of the inner world by following a set of verbal instructions. This systematic meditation that includes stages of body scan with rotation of consciousness and breath awareness will calm your entire nervous system and will invite brain waves that will make you feel completely refreshed. Yoga Nidra offers a space to explore what you need in this moment of your life, as well as an opportunity to work on releasing long-held emotions. Resting in this space gives rise to a sense of inner peace and freedom.

Sound Healing

Devotional Chanting

Isa invites you to immerse in the ancient chant traditions of Indian culture to feel its intrinsic beauty and its power to catalyze spiritual growth. Musical gatherings are auspicious as an effective form of yoga that facilitate intense concentration, absorption in the seed of sound, and inner healing of body, mind and soul. Sound or vibration is the most powerful force in the universe. A song born out of the depths of true devotion and continuously chanted, audibly or mentally, will open the heart until one is immersed in the bliss of singing. In those blissful moments a dim memory comes to us of our divine origin. Chanting with true devotion will unleash divine communion and ecstatic joy, and will awake the soul and guide us on the path to liberation.
