THEATRE

Within the sphere of Theatre, we encounter drama that depicts both real and imagined events – some of which may even relate to our own experiences. A world of visualisations enacted within the realms of both improvised and scripted drama express a spectrum of scenarios.
It is also a space that takes away the division between the stage and the audience: anyone and everyone with the impulse and intention can get involved for a magical, interactive experience. The audience is no longer just an audience, but part of the act, making it an encounter of surreal and humorous proportions.
Shows such as these and a spectrum of others are sure to get the creative juices flowing, adding a unique dimension to the Boom experience.
DANCE
To become immersed in observing an art as mesmerising as dance, is to stimulate another part of the sub-conscious mind.
There is no place for words when communication based on pure physical movement can have such an instantaneous effect on hundreds of people in a poetic and symbolic capacity.

CIRCUS
Laughter is the best medicine we can get for our health, heart, mind, body and spirit. So, Boom would not be complete in 2012 without a unique collective of travelling circus performers that will not only leave you in fits of laughter, but will surprise you with their awe-inspiring, gravity-defying acts!
Baby Boomers and big people will love the energy of these super-talented spirits who become a total tonic in the midst of festival madness.

PERFORMANCE ART
Art is everywhere, not just in terms of installations, visuals, structures and gardens, but also in terms of people when humans themselves take on the form of art itself. Random performances including dare devil stunt men and women and extravagant, be-costumed characters on mischievous missions create a surreal other-planetary wonder-world, affirming that this really is an alternative reality of time and space…
Breaking down the boundaries between artist and onlooker, the public space at Boom becomes a dimension in which stimulating connections are built through interactive relationships between performers and unsuspecting members of the Boom public. Random, cheeky acts of spontaneity mean that anything can happen at any time – whether you’re strolling leisurely from a chai shop to the flea market, or from the Dance Temple to the bar…
